Testing Center Update

March 24, 2020

As a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Albany State University is taking campus safety precautions. The ASU Testing Center (East and West Campus) is temporarily closed. Taking the GACE Program Admission Assessment, GACE Content Exams and the TEAS Test on campus is not an option at this time.

For additional information about testing, contact:

West Campus Testing Center | asutesting@asurams.edu | 229-500-2921

East Campus Testing Center | asutesting@asurams.edu | 229-500-2041

GACE

If you scheduled your exams during the time when the ASU Testing Center is closed, you will need to re-schedule your exam. This can be done through your gace.ets.org login account. You will need to log in to your account and request to change or cancel the scheduled test. You may have to choose an alternate date and/or location. You may use this link for additional information: https://gace.ets.org/register/change_cancel/.

These tests are required for admission to the teacher education program and student teaching. The application deadlines for fall 2020 student teaching and admission to the teacher education program have been extended to July 1, 2020, thus giving you time to take the exams in April, May, and June possibly at other locations.

For additional information about the teacher education program, please contact 229-500-2145 or teresa.fleming@asurams.edu.

TEAS

In consideration of testing site closures in response to COVID-19 precautions, the Department of Nursing has elected to temporarily give provisional acceptance for applications without TEAS scores. Provisional acceptance does not guarantee full acceptance or eligibility for continuation within the program, and failure to meet the admission criteria prior to the established deadline will result in the revocation of acceptance status and prevent further progression through the program.

Applicants who receive provisional acceptance based on missing TEAS scores, please be aware of the following deadlines for TEAS score submissions:

Summer 2020 Applicants: Applicants must have taken and passed the TEAS exam at or above the required program-specific score within no more than two attempts within the past 12-month period by no later than Wednesday, July 1, 2020.

Fall 2020 Applicants: Applicants must have taken and passed the TEAS exam at or above the required program-specific score within no more than two attempts within the past 12-month period by no later than Friday, July 31, 2020.

For information in regards to the TEAS and other health career programs, please refer to the Darton College of Health Professions web page.

For additional information about the nursing program, please contact 229-500-2330 or eric.hernandez@asurams.edu.
