Getting Started with Information Technology
Information Technology is an integral part of your position at Albany State University. The following steps will help you meet the technology requirements of the University. Find your RAM ID. Your RAM ID is generated once you apply to Albany State University. Your RAM ID is the nine-digit number located in your hiring packet. You can go to Banner Web to retrieve your RAM ID. The RAM ID is used to access "in person" services such as walk-up services at various campus departments. It is also used in setting the password for your Network ID. Test your Network ID. Your Network ID is your unique identifier for electronic accounts. Your Network ID is used to access the myASU portal, campus computers, the ASU wireless network, Blackboard Vista 8 and Desire2Learn. Go to http://www.asurams.edu and click on myASU Menu. Login with your Network ID and password. If you are successful, you will be logged in to the myASU portal page. If you need assistance, contact the ITS Helpdesk at (229) 430-4909 or in person at the ITS Helpdesk located on the first floor of the James Pendergrast Memorial Library. Check your ASU Faculty/Staff e-mail account. Access your e-mail account right away to make sure you are on track. Remember that Albany State University will send all electronic communications to your ASU Faculty/Staff e-mail address. You can sign-in to your faculty/staff email account using your Network ID for your username and the default password password. Start using Banner Web. This online system is used to access your cou.rses and your rosters, complete attendance verification and input course grades. It also provides you with an easy and secure method of accessing your BOSS Cars vehicle registration. Click here to access Banner Web. Connect your laptop to the ASU WiFi Network. ASU students are able to gain access to the AIRRAM wireless network by logging on to the system using their Network ID and password. |
