ASU 2008-09 Golden Rams Cheerleaders

The Albany State University cheerleaders have been entertaining fans for years and they are gearing up to provide lots of excitement for the 2008-2009 season. With new faces, bigger and better routines, a higher level of difficulty and a different approach to the sport, the Golden Rams cheerleaders are destined to be the best squad ever. The ASU cheerleaders, with their winning personalities, beautiful uniforms and spectacular stunts and dance routines, have become an important part of the game-day experience for Golden Rams fans. They do an excellent job of increasing school spirit and crowd involvement at all athletic events. They live up to their goals of being ambassadors for the University and its athletics program.

The impact of the ASU cheerleaders is not just limited to providing game day spirit and excitement. Each year, members of the squad are in high demand for local community and school functions. They volunteer numerous hours in community service, including reading and mentoring elementary and high school students, can food drives and visiting elderly patients at nursing homes and children in hospitals.

Coached by Karla Parks, a certified member of the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators, the Golden Ram cheerleaders have developed into one of the best squads in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and NCAA Division II. They compete in cheerleading competitions at the conference level during the year. The squad was named the SIAC’s 2004, 2005 and 2006 All-Female Squad Cheerleading Champions.
