International Students How To Apply

An international freshman is a student who has completed or will soon complete high school and who has yet to enroll in a 2 or 4 year college or university. U.S Passport holders and permanent residents studying abroad are not considered international freshmen students. APPLY NOW!

DOCUMENTS TO SUBMIT  (for associate and bachelor degree programs)

To receive I-20 form

  • Proof of funding: Submit  completed Declaration of Finances form or Sponsorship letter statement from sponsor
  • Official bank statement from sponsor(s); Minimum of $27,600 available for educational and personal expenses

An international transfer is a student who has fully enrolled in a 2 or 4 year higher education institution and would like to continue their academic career at ASU. Transfer students must have a minimum of a 2.0 grade point average.  U.S Passport holders and permanent residents studying abroad are not considered international transfers. APPLY NOW!

DOCUMENTS TO SUBMIT  (for associate and bachelor degree programs)

*If you have less than 30 transferable semester credit hours, you will be evaluated as a freshman and may need to submit your high school transcript and SAT or ACT test scores to apply for a bachelor’s degree program.

Unlike undergraduate admissions, the graduate studies admissions process is more centralized and has their own separate admissions application. When you apply to ASU Graduate programs, we can assist you with your I-20, but the Graduate Studies Admissions Office will process and make the decision on your application.   • Official transcripts with course-by-course evaluation from an accredited evaluation agency under AICE OR NACES  (for non U.S. transcripts) - Send to graduate studies admissions
  • Immunization Record (MMR, Meningitis, Clear TB test) OR completed Certificate of Immunization form (can email, include studenthealthservices@asurams.edu)

If you are an international student coming from inside of the United States, in addition to the requirements above, please submit the list of documents below.

  • Official transcripts from high schools or colleges attended inside the USA
  • Transfer-In Form from ASU and a Transfer-Out form from your current or previous school
  • Copy of visa (can email)
  • Copy of I-94 (can email)
  • Copy of your current I-20 or other immigration documents (can email)
