Notice of Non-Discrimination
 Albany State University does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national
                              origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, physical
                              or mental disability, religion, or age in its programs or activities.
Non-discrimination on the basis of sex is mandated by Title IX of the Education Amendments
                              of 1972 (20 U.S.C. §§ 1681 et seq.) and the corresponding implementation regulations
                              (34 C.F.R. Part 106). Title IX specifically states that:
“No person in the United States shall on the basis of sex be excluded from participation
                                 in, denied the benefits of or be subjected to discrimination under any education program
                                 or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
This policy prohibits sexual misconduct of both a sexual and non-sexual nature committed
                              by or against any member of the University community regardless of their gender related
                              status.
