Regional high school, college students attend ASU Arts Immersion Program Master Class

master classALBANY – High school and college students from around the region attended the Arts Immersion Program Master Class on Friday, Sept. 13, sponsored by Albany State University.

Founded and coordinated by Elizabeth Delancy, director of Dance at ASU, the program exposes students to various aspects of the arts, including theatre, music, dance and visual art. Students from Putnam County Charter School, Monroe Comprehensive High School, Thomas County Central High School, Westover Comprehensive High School and Andrew College participated.

The Arts Immersion Program team members and master instructors included professors Delancy,  Ta'Varis Wilson, director of Theatre; Shavecca Snead, Abigail Ward, Scott Marini and Michael Mallard of the Visual Arts division; the music program's Jillian Baxter, director of the percussion unit; and Kenneth Trimmins, director of the ASU Marching Rams Show Band.

This event was the first of many outreach endeavors under the Arts Immersion Program umbrella.
