Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences at Albany State University. The College is comprised of four departments: The Department of Arts and Humanities, The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics, The Department of Natural Sciences, and The Department of Social Sciences. Each department houses a variety of intriguing major and minor areas of study and core curriculum pathways for students to explore as they build an impressive portfolio of experiences and skills.

Our faculty members are the heart and soul of the College of Arts and Sciences. We develop curriculum and activities that emphasize the effective communication, analysis, and synthesis of ideas to find creative solutions to challenges we face as a community and as a nation. Students in the College of Arts and Sciences exercise their minds creatively while engaging in experiential learning and career readiness activities. Our faculty engage with students to help them better understand the history and systems that have shaped our time and affect our lives. Our faculty are dedicated to students realizing their full potential as aspiring scholars of life, culture, art, science, and technology.

Teaching and learning take place in the classroom and beyond. In addition to direct instruction, our college offers a variety of field trips, guest lecturers, performances, and exhibitions, as well as radio, television, and streaming content. These events and platforms supplement course work and provide for interaction with fellow students and faculty. Please take full advantage of these educational and social opportunities. Also, explore learning communities and clubs related to your area(s) of interest, and consider the many study abroad opportunities offered at ASU.
