CIRP Freshman Survey

The CIRP Freshman Survey is a national assessment administered by the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) at UCLA that gathers comprehensive data on incoming first-year college students before they begin their college experience. It captures information on students’ backgrounds, academic preparedness, career goals, values, attitudes, and expectations for college, providing institutions with valuable insights to support strategic planning, student success initiatives, and accreditation efforts. Administered annually during orientation or before the start of classes, the survey allows colleges and universities to better understand the needs and motivations of their entering class and benchmark their data against national trends.
