Student Government Association

REACH

The Student Government Association (SGA) represents the student body and serves as its voice by engaging a diverse population of students, listening to their perspectives, and communicating those views to the university’s administration.

As students themselves, SGA members are uniquely positioned to understand the concerns and ideas of their peers and to share them with faculty, staff, and administration. This partnership allows university leaders to better understand the authentic needs of students as they live and learn on campus.

SGA provides a structured avenue for the administration to identify students’ most significant needs and priorities and to work toward addressing them. Members of SGA also serve as a sounding board for the administration, offering student insight as decisions are considered and helping to gauge student perspectives on upcoming changes. Whether addressing social issues or advocating for physical improvements to campus, SGA partners with the Division of Student Affairs to support meaningful change.

Participation in SGA empowers students to serve as change agents on campus while building strong relationships within the university community.
