Transfer Student Spotlight: Shaneal Hill
Shaneal Hill is a native of Miles City, Montana and a junior pursuing an associate of science in nursing at Albany State University (ASU).
Why did you choose ASU?
Albany State has a well-structured curriculum and flexibility that fits the schedule
of working professionals. Balancing full-time work and motherhood, I appreciate the
understanding and endless support received to pursue my education.
What do you love most about your chosen field?
Nursing has always been my passion. I find constant fulfillment in the ever-evolving
nature of the field that motivates me to keep coming back. I aim to further my nursing
career, focusing on areas where I can make a significant impact in the community with
my skills.
What obstacles have you had to overcome to progress as a college student?
As a single mother working full time, I have faced numerous challenges along my path
to success. Through hard work and determination, I remain committed to my goals to
pursue my passion and be a positive resource within the community.
What advice would you give to students interested in transferring to ASU?
Believe in the power of perseverance and use that power to pursue your dreams: “If
you want it, go and get it.” This mindset has been a guide along my educational journey
and I hope it will serve as an inspiration to others.
