Golden Rams Announce 2021 Football Schedule
Albany State University has announced its 2021 football schedule. For ASU fans, the
slate has a familiar look, as the Golden Rams will face some of the same opponents
from the 2019 campaign, with the Golden Rams hosting four home games in 2021.
“We look forward to the RAMily gathering again in support of Golden Rams Football,
an ASU tradition that dates back to the program’s start in 1945. We will continue
to be vigilant in following health and safety guidelines,” said ASU President Marion
Ross Fedrick.
Ticket information and more game times will be announced in the coming months.
"We put together a challenging schedule for 2021. We tell our recruits, they will
have the opportunity to play in a tough conference and they will have the chance to
play quality opponents outside of the SIAC. This schedule makes good on that promise,"
said Golden Rams head football coach Gabe Giardina.
Albany State University and Golden Rams Athletics anticipate that the fall 2021 athletics
seasons will open to in-person capacity at all athletic contests (to include Homecoming).
"Nothing compares to campus football game days. Following last season's cancellation,
I know Golden Rams Nation joins me in looking forward to action on the gridiron. I
can't wait to experience the traditions and pageantry of ASU football this coming
fall," said ASU Athletics Director Tony Duckworth.
If health conditions require, ASU will be prepared to implement protocols to return
to social distancing and alternative options for alumni and fans.
