U.S. News & World Report logoALBANY – U.S. News & World Report has released this year’s list of top-ranked colleges and universities. Albany State University (ASU) is listed among the nation’s top Historically Black Colleges and Universities. ASU made the cut at #26 among all public HBCUs in the nation.

“Albany State University offers students a unique and student-focused college experience,” said ASU President Marion Fedrick. “We offer diverse student organizations, enriching arts and cultural activities and an academic experience that rivals institutions ranked in the top 10. Our academic programs expose students to engaging research and practical experience in topics such as block chain technology, visual and performing arts, health sciences and entrepreneurship. We are proud to be among the top HBCUs in the nations.”

The rankings are based on graduation and retention rates, social mobility, graduation rate performance, faculty resources, peer and high school counselor assessments, financial resources, student excellence and alumni giving.

ASU also ranks #5 among the most affordable HBCUs in the U.S., according to a study released by Student Loan Hero. The institution is the tenth largest HBCU in the nation, with an enrollment of over 6,000 students.

“We encourage everyone to take full advantage of ASU’s resources as we implement initiatives that will position ASU for greater success,” Fedrick said.

ASU ranks #40 among all HBCUs nationwide, sharing the current spot with Central State University, Florida Memorial University and South Carolina State University.
